Opportunities to obtain appropriate education for children who are differently abled can mean the difference between independence and dependence as adults. Parent Tip (for school meetings):
Bring something for everyone to eat..local bakery pastries and some coffee, something like that. These people, though it is their job, are taking time out of their schedule to be at this meeting, and a little thoughtfulness goes A LONG way. When I did that, two people in the meeting were absolutely taken aback, and commented on how very kind it was, I know it made their day to know that I thought OF them, and not just what I would GET from them.
    --From Jenifer, an experienced mother
